DIRECT & INDIRECT

1. Direct          : Indah says “ I go to work everyday”

Indirect        : Indah says that she goes to work everyday (simple present tense berubah menjadi simple past tense)

2. Direct          : She had said "I have come with him"

Indirect        : She had said that she was coming with him (present continous tense berubah menjadi past continous tense)

3. Direct          : She says "I shall be studying at seven o'clock tonight"

Indirect        : She said that She was studying at seven o'clock tonight (future continous  tense menjadi past continous)

4. Direct          : They had said "we was happy in that day"

    Indirect       : They had said that they was happy in that day (simple past tense tetap)

5. Direct          : Andri will say "I have taken a bath"

    Indirect       : Andri will say that he has taken a bath (present perfect tense tetap)

6. Direct          : Nurmala said "I help my mother after school"

Indirect        : Nurmala said that She helped her mother after school (simple present tense berubah menjadi simple past tense)

7. Direct          : He had said "Reina is waiting for you"

Indirect        : He had said that Reina was waiting for me (present continous tense berubah

                        menjadi past continous tense)

8. Direct          : Doni said "I will be a doctor next year"

Indirect        : Doni said that she would be a doctor the following year (simple future tense berubah menjadi past future tense)

9. Direct          : Nayla had said "My mother will be cooking soup at nine o'clock tomorrow"

Indirect        : Nayla had said that her mother would be cooking soup at eight o'clock the following day (future continous tense berubah menjadi past continous tense)

10. Direct        : They said "we studied english last night"

Indirect      : They said that they had studied english the previous night (simple past tense berubah menjadi past perfect tense)

11. Direct        : She had said "My sister has played piano"

Indirect      : She said that her sister had played piano (present perfect tense berubah menjadi past perfect tense)

12. Direct        : Gisel says "We are studying hard"

Indirect       : Gisel says that they was studying hard (present continous tense berubah menjadi  past continous tense)

13. Direct        : John (phoning from the station), “I’m trying to get a taxi.”

Indirect     : John says that he is trying to get a taxi. (simple present tense tetap)

14. Direct        : Siska says,” The sun rises every morning.”

Indirect     : Siska says that the sun rises every morning (simple present tense tetap)

15. Direct        : James says,“ I’m going to the cinema”

Indirect     : He said that he was going to the cinema (present continous tense berubah menjadi past continous tense)
